The reason I left her out was because the vet said to make sure she gets
exercise. But I think I'll take your advice on keeping her confined for a
week, because after watching how she did out walking, she just doesn't seem
ready. She just wasn't steady on her feet, and her hind end fell over. On
top of that, she went to the ferret room door and started scratching, and
when we scooped her up and tried to redirect her attention elsewhere, she
went directly back to their door and just sat there. I think it was
probably stressful and upsetting to her, and stress is certainly not
something she needs right now.

I also wanted to mention that reddened area on her belly has significantly
decreased since yesterday. I was very worried about it yesterday because
it had grown in size, covering about 75% of her underside. Today, I'd say
it only covers 1/3. And the redness that is still there is not nearly as
bright, with the exception of an area about the size of a quarter at the
bottom of her ribs. It's still pretty red and tender looking there.

She's also getting up more often on her own, rather than sleeping almost
constantly until we pick her up. Her food and water intake have really
increased today, and so has her output. :-) We have to replace the paper
in her bathroom corner more each day.

She seems to be making more progress each day. And each day, the steps
toward her recovery get bigger. Today she has shown some major signs of
improvement, which is so great to see.
