Hi,
Now before you reaad what I've passed on below, I'm not saying this is what=
is going on at all, just sounded similar with the back legs issue, also I =
don't have any previous knowledge to your ferrets health as I'm new to the =
list and haven't worked through all the posts yet. =

A similar problem happened in two of my ferrets with the loss of using the =
hind quarters. They were fine one day, walking and eating, pooping ect.. t=
hen suddenly lost use of their back legs and did this otter movement as you=
described. Unfortunately an x-ray showed tumors that were rapidly spreadi=
ng and pushing against the spine causing the ferret to become somewhat para=
lyzed in the hind quarters. In one ferret she lost control of her bowles a=
nd literally deficated in her bedding without being able to get up. (She w=
as only 3 and a half when this happened). Because the tumors grew so fast =
I had to have her put down because they were begining to push against her h=
eart and lungs. With the first ferret that this happened to the process wa=
s a little longer, spread over a week and a half rather than three days. =

Again may not be what is happeing but you may want to have your vet x-ray s=
ooner then later, just in case this is something that can be seen on the x-=
rays and taken care of earlier then later. =

geable vet here in springfield mo could you please let me know, i would lik=
