That's right - I didn't see mention of that in the current thread. I
thought the fluid in his abdomen was ascites secondary to the tumors.
But now I do see the mention of heart problems in an earlier thread. So,
yeah, spiro makes sense assuming the fluid is from heart failure rather
than the tumors. Apologies for not reading the whole backstory more
carefully before replying.

Speaking of lasix doses, my current cardio guy gets 2 mg of injectable
lasix three times a day. One of my departed cardio ferrets received
something like 6 mg four times a day near the end of her life. Usually 4
mg every six to eight hours is given as the top dose in the formularies,
but many people have exceeded that dose. Some ferrets tolerate it and
compensate their fluid intake, but some don't.

The injectable lasix is really easily given with little small u100 insulin
syringes. I think mine have something like a 31 or 30 gauge needle. My
guys don't even flinch when those go in as long as they have ferretone or
gravy in front of them.
