Okay by my calculations you still have some play with the dose. I wonder
however if the increased frequency is a bad thing and might becausing a
paradoxical effect. I think you can easily give 5 mg of pred twice per day.
I prefer prednisolone over prednisone. And yes improve the diet. If you
need a diet supplement there is a product called Critical care Carnivore
made by Oxbow Hay company and is easily mixed up at your convienence but
your vet would need to order it or Rx the company for you to order it. It
is very low in fiber/carbs and high in protein and fat. This might be a
better thing to do at intervals during the day. If this doesn't help I
would try to change the form of cortisone as mentioned before.

Diazoxide has a lot of play left. I believe you can easily go to as much as
4 times what you are giving if you need to. It does not work instantly so
it takes time to adjust.

Hope this helps let us know how things go. Of course the other option that
is currently in vogue is surgery to remove a portion of the panreas and
limit the insulin stimulation.
