BTW, we have had a small female who was especially resistent to problems iwth steroids on five mg per day. (That is five, not zero point five.) Ferrets are not prone to problems with steroids compared to other animals, but there are individuals who are exceptions on either end of the scale, of course.

In relation to home testing. Trust the direction, but don't necessarily trust the numbers on human-calibrated equipment. See the numbers with in-hospital testing and then your own equipment and testing method to get an idea of how much variation there may be.
