I have posted before about Sidney. She was diagnosed with gastroenteritis
back in July. We have had good days and bad days with her. She has never totally
pulled through it. She has mainly been on a liquid diet. I bought her lamb and
turkey based food, but she will not eat any kibble. Now in the last week she
has gone down hill very fast. She is refussing to eat or drink anything. I
have to force feed her very slowly. All she wants to do is sleep. I know she has
given up, but I and the vet are trying very hard to turn her around. She was
on flagyl,reglan and pet tenic compounded together, it was not working. She has
had a total of 2 Winstrol-V injections and they seemed to do nothing for her.
She is also taking the carafate too. As of last friday 8-13-04 I took her to
the vet and the gave her sub-q fulids and another Winstrol-V injection. They
changed her meds to clavamox b.i.d. She has had no improvement at all. She is
very weak. She refusses food or water of any kind. It takes 2 people to force
feed her. She is lossing weight and is vary frail. I have tried to get her up
to move around but all she wants to do is hide in a dark place and sleep.
I dont know what to do, we are fighting so hard for her, but I feel we are
lossing the battle. If she has a chance I dont want to give up, but it this is
just tourture to her I dont want to do this either. I need help please!
