Badger, my 3 year old MF boy has had a lump on his head, behind his right ear for a few months now. It is fur covered, the skin covering it is not discolored, it moves independently of the skull- it is NOT attached to his skull. When I first noticed it, I thought it may have been an insect bite, it was the size of a small pea, but it has grown to large pea size or slightly larger and seems to hurt him now when I handle it.

Since ferrets are so prone to cancer, my vet will be removing it, probably this week, but I was wondering if anyone has any idea what this could be, and if I should spend the money to send it out for pathology.

Thanks for any and all responses! deena
