The only negative effect I read, was a headache, are there others? I would like to adminster the melatonin myself. I read it was in a liquid form, is that correct?
Yes, you can use melatonin with Lupron. Never heard of the headache side effect though. Someone else mentioned that and as I recall, Dr. Murray asked how one would determine that a ferret had a headache? Good question! :) Maybe humans that take melatonin get headaches? I am only aware of two minor side effects in ferrets: weight gain and sleepiness for several days when first beginning treatment.
Melatonin comes in several forms. Pill, liquid or implant. Either of the first two would be given daily. The implant lasts 3-4 months.
