Thanks so much to those who answered my post!
These archived posts quoted below are some of the many informative resources I had been searching - that's how I knew I needed to get melatonin for our Josie and Jennie (the vet said, "Melatonin? Why would you want to give a ferret melatonin? They sleep enough."). Mike's comprehensive article on the topic is also must reading, and convinced me; however, it's the absorbable ones I am curious about, as it seems far preferable to have an implanted capsule, small though it is, that would be absorbed rather than 'piling up' under the skin. A post in the archive from 2002 mentions a company that was working on such an implant, but I can find nothing more current on it - would anyone happen to have heard anything, or know where to look?
