I wanted to up date everyone on Sidney and see if any one as any other
advice.
I took Sidney back to the vet Tues. morning 8-17-04. They did find a blockage
in her colon. On Monday night she passed something weird, still don't know
for sure what it was, but obviously part of the blockage. The vet said her
intestines are clear, the blockage in her colon is close to the size of a small
marble. She was dehydrated from having diarrhea after she passed the blockage.
She is now down to 1lb.
I am giving her sub-q fluids 2 times a day to re-hydrate her. She is own
glucerna or clinicare every 3 hours and lots of water. She is on Albon w/reglan
for nausea once a day. Pet tenic for vitamins.
We are hoping to flush out the blockage. She is way to weak to have surgery.
Oh, she is also on the carafate to coat her tummy.
Bless her heart she has been through a lot and she still has a lot of fight
left in her, she is only a year old too.
If any one has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it.
