Was Beasley on meds and did you keep the meds along with the Devils Club? I intend to keep him on the meds while trying it. I heard of a few people with bad experiences, but I also have heard that some people had mistaken Devil's Claw for Devil's Club. Prednisolone and diazoxide are working and maybe upping the dose more would level off his blood sugars. But he's gained a lot of weight from the pred (and all the duck soup) and he breathes faster now. The vet said it may be the startings of congestive heart failure, but his lungs are clear. X-rays showed some congestion in his bronchial tubes but he gets stuffed up a lot, always has. I would like to be able to reduce his pred. He has gotten fat several times when he was younger and had to loose weight (he breathed fast then). Plus last year, after we discovered he had insulinoma, he had 1/2 pound spleen removed.
