With nothing on x-ray and the ferret having urinary tract problems you are best off saving the money that the TN Panel or other tests could create, make sure that you have a vet who is up to doing surgery on a ferret, do pre-op testing to make sure there aren't signs of a serious medical problem which might make meds better to use while that problem is hopefully stabilized, and do the surgery. With blocking you need to jump fast before he blocks too fully or there will be urine back-up and kidney damage, also prostate cysts could develop. Surgery to remove the bad adrenal is curative for an enlarged prostate which has not developed cysts and fortuneately, most prostates don't have cysts. Meanwhile, though, you might want to give the meds while you are making arrangements. The single best way to find those is to search on
Propecia
or on
Proscar
and use
AFERRETVET
in the from box
in the FHL Complete Archives at
http://fhl.sonic-weasel.org
and search also in
http://www.miamiferret.org/fhc

(If you don't there are places to find ferret vets. There are lists of vets which can be found by going to the Reference Shelf in the FHL Files section:
http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/ferrethealth/ReferenceShelf?viewtype=Detailed&shownum=20&sort=type&dir=asc&startrow=1

or the critical refs in
http://www.ferretcongress.org
which includes links to many such lists like the one in Miamiferret, and a pile more, and there are also a few mentions of such resources that aren't in those links to be found in the sonic-weasel addy above.

You also can ask any ferret clubs and shelters in your area by looking in these listings:
http://www.supportour shelters.org
and
http://www.ferret.org/links/shelters.asp
both of which are marvelous resources
