What would cause a ferrets face, belly and tail to turn red? I got in a surrender that
was a little on the skinny side, but appeared otherwise healthy. I figured that she
was so skinny due to a poor diet. I sent her over to a foster family that has always
taken great care of the ferrets. Tonight, foster mom brought her over and she is
even skinnier, her face, underbelly and tail is a reddish orange. Her fur appears to
be sparse, but she had a nice looking coat a week ago. The first thing that popped
into my mind was chemical burn. I asked the foster mom if she got into anything,
but she said that she hadn't. She said that she quit eating yesterday and that she
was only able to get her to take nutrical. I find it odd how a week ago, this little girl
was a pretty, active ferret. Any ideas??
