Loss of eyesight is not uncommon in ferrets and except when there is another reason to be concerned (such as discomfort from glaucoma) it doesn't much matter to them because scent, hearing, and likley touch are more important for them usually.

It would not hurt to check with your vet to see how widely the blood sugar levels may be swinging.
