Just a note. I have seen ferrets at times that have had all the signs of
insulinoma and pred helps, but if there were ongoing existing problems
changes in appetite, attitude, and ability to absorb foods properly can
allfect blood glucose to the point where the ferret exhibits all the signs
of low blood sugar and thus signs of insulinoma. Just know yes it is true
if it looks like a duck and acts like a duck, it probably is a duck, BUT NOT
ALWAYS so it is to your advantage to rule other things out as well. Hope
you understand what I am trying to say.

Years agao I had a colleague who continually told a client that her ferret
had insulinoma and continuesd blood tests etc. And all signs could have
pointed to it and the blood glucose was low and she was told to continue
force feeding this ferret. Well my point, this ferret was 10 months old and
had an intestinal obstruction, yes it was missed and continued force feeding
didn't help. It was 2 weeks of missed diagnosis and we did surgery, she
made it thru but with too much damage due to the time wasted. So please
always consider there can be more then what you think and look at the bigger
picture. Best of lick to you and your baby.
