I wrote last week about Pip, my 18 month old girl who got up wobbly one mor=
ning. Our trip to the vet did not turn up a whole lot, the vet felt pretty=
confident she had somehow hurt herself and had a spinal injury, that would=
hopefully heal in time. She was put on prednisone and sent home. I had a=
hard time finding a vet, calling many in my town only to be referred to th=
is exotics vet an hour away by all of them. That was 5 days ago now. At t=
his point Pip is probably 75% better, but not completely better. She still=
walks with her head at an angle, with one eye looking slightly up and the =
other looking slightly down. At the time of the exam, the vet said her pup=
ils were constricted and she wasn't seeing much, which she said was suggest=
ive of an injury. At that time, her head was almost sideways. It is now a=
lmost normal, but she still doesn't seem to see too well. The biggest conc=
ern to me is she doesn't seem to be able to eat her kibble. Even cheerios,=
she chops up but does not eat. I have been giving her duck soup since thi=
s happened. She eats well and is quite active, just sort of a klutz instead=
of a remarkable gymnast. She will be on pred another week. Hopefully this=
will resolve itself and she will be completely normal again. But if anyone=
has any ideas, all would be appreciated. =
