If Moonshine's dirty ears have been a chronic problem there is a chance
there is infection which ca cause a vestibular problem. A good antibiotic
most likely will be needed in addition to treatment for the ears.

If the waxy discharge is orangey in color have the vet check for yeast
infection,

If the discharge is brown to black in color your ferret has ear
mites. Remember not to swab too deeply or a perforation of the ear drum
could be caused-- this could cause the infection or symptoms similar to
what you are reporting.
