Subject: when to place chip

I just wonderet. How early is it responsibel to place a chip in a ferret. Our kits was chippet at the age of 9 weeks and didnt show any sign of pain in that age.

Is it okay to do when they are maybe 3 weeks or is that to early.. Just want to know when people think is is responsibel to do.
