I've noticed 2 of my ferrets have quite bad tartar build up on their molars - one of them had a tooth abscess earlier in the year which was treated with antibiotics.
Up till now they haven't had their teeth brushed, but will now attempt it. Will the enzyme toothpaste and brushing with a cat toothbrush break down the tartar or does this need to be done at a vets? Is the toothpaste only useful once the teeth have been cleared of tartar?
