Don't worry about compounding it. This one is cinch to give. All of the pills of Florinef/Fludrocort (the second is the generic name and the most affordable way I have found to get it is to get the generic from a regular pharmacy) that I have have ever had have been serrated, so they can be safely cut into chunks because serrated pills ahve the meds evenly distributed throughout. So, we just cut, crush and then give mixed with with Ferretone or Nutrical, depending on what the ferret likes best. It is one med we have NEVER had major problems giving. In fact, usually, when mixed with one of those two things it is treated as a treat by the ferrets.

I wanted to ask if anyone here has any information on Florinef.. my ferret will be having his second adrenal surgery soon and we want to have this med available.. my vet only has pills and I plan on having it compounded into liquid and we are not sure of the proper dosage.. our ferret is between 2- 2 1/2 lbs. What dosage should I have it compounded into??
