Tylosin is technically a chicken medication. We use it for clostridial
overgrowth in dogs. Rarely use it in anything else since it is soooooo
bitter and nasty I don't think you would get it down your ferret without a
struggle. I think it is worse then flagyl. Depends on the cause of your
cloitis problem as well. Have you tried dietary adjustments including
either olive oil, and green peas or pumpkin or use of omega fatty acids
which are antiinflammatory to the gut? It sounds more like an IBD type
problem. If it is try a different diet from your vet like one of the
innovative veterinary diets for cats until you find what you are looking
for. Don't know if this is the info you were looking for but figured I
would put in my 2 cents. Oh by the way the other thing worth trying is
probiotics (beneficial bacteria) these often reset the tract. Sometimes you
need pred too. All the best.
