This is to answer the question as to why all adrenal glands were not remove=
d yet. Koda was our first ferret to have adrenals removed. We only had one=
removed in the first surgery. Koda was good for about 3 months then starte=
d showing signs of adrenal problems again we had the vet go back in he said=
the gland that was left had increased in size to about 4 times what should=
be the normal size he removed the second adrenal gland at that time. The =
third surgery was to look for any left over adrenal tissue because after on=
e year Koda was showing signs of adrenal again. The vet said he found some =
remaining tissue and had removed it. Koda has never been on kind of supple=
ments. The vet thiks Koda has some sort of (I think he called it ambient t=
issue left) I was told this is tissue he is unable to see, therefore unable=
to remove but in some cases the tissue will grow over time to a size that =
can be seen and removed. So really we don't know if having a surgery will =
even fix the symptoms he is having. I was just thinking about one of our o=
ther ferrets that has passed on and we were giving her melatonin I'm not su=
re of the spelling. I was wondering if giving this to koda with his blood s=
ugar problems could cause things to be worse or if it is worth a try to sta=
rt with melatonin

Thanks again
