Yes, I'd have some testes timed out to check the sodium-potassium ratio just for safety's sake, and watch for him going off his food, becoming lethargic, etc.

It would NOT hurt to have the vet provide a tab of Florinef/Fludrocort and the projected dose for this ferret (usually 1/4 to 1/8 of a 0.1 mg tab in our experience, and all of the tabs we've seen have been serrated, so the meds are evenly spaced enough to cut (instead of curshing, mixing well, and then dividing as you would do for an unserrated tab). Youcan then give it in Ferretone or Nutrical; oils are okay to give with this med. Also have some Pediapred on hand and the dose your vet mentions for that for this individual. If he has problems also at first give him some table salt to bring up the sodium level; that's triuck we learned from Dr. Jerry Murray and it haas stood us in very good stead while adjusting doses.

The cheapest way to get Florinef/Flurocort if you ever wind up needing a prescription has in our experience been through a local pharmacy and going for the generic Fludrocort, but I sue that will vary depedning on if your vet has a lot of call for it.

Cryos don't always get all the tissue, same as standard surgery and vets varya lot in that regard. The symptoms will take a while to go down, anyway, from our experience, but if they continue too long it might be that some tissue which produces too much hormone may remain and if it is small amount then Melatonin by itself may help, or Melatonin and Lupron if not. That may change over time.

If memroy serves there is an FHL member whose ferret needs both the replacement hormones and Lupron. Also, if memory serves, different sections fo the adrenal gland produce the hormonal adrenal products from those which produce the steroidal adrenal products (I'm not all here today so check me on that or maybe a member knows fort sure so can answer.) so thatcould account for soem ferrets have that unuxual mix.

Hope this makes enough sense.
