Hi Everyone,

I just took my almost 7 year old girl, Lilly, to a new vet. We just moved and he comes highly recommended. She had adrenal surgery 1 year ago, has IBD and insulinoma. During her surgery, the right gland was debulked and cryo'ed and the left was never found. After the surgery she has continued to loose her hair and now resembles a naked mole rat. My question, has anyone ever heard of giving zinc for hair loss? He suggested that since it bothers me so much that I could give her 7.5 mg zinc every other day for 3-4 doses. He said most of the ferrets he's seen have grown back their hair. He said that I should see hair growth very rapidly and if it doesn't work for her, it won't hurt her. Any thoughts? I'm well aware that this will do nothing for her adrenal tumors, but will make her a bit more comfortable with the winter months approaching.

Thanks for your help.

Kerry
