Hi, I hope someone can help me with advice here. I have 3 ferrets I adopted in July.
They were only at the shelter for 2 wks, so they dont have much info on them.
There, they were on Totally Ferret food. I continued them on that food when I
adopted them. They had intermittent loose stools and diarrhia. Thinking its just
stress, that it will go away. The diarrhia has, but they continue to have really loose
stools. I didnt know if it was the food, so I gradually added in new food and took
out TF... one of the new foods being Natural Gold (and I heard it can take up to a
month for their systems to adjust to this food). So, its been a month (2 since I
adopted them), and they still continue to have loose stools. They act totally normal,
playful, etc... and its not diarrhia, thats why they havent been to the vet sooner
about this. They do have an appt tommorrow, but I was wondering if anyone has
any clue as what could be going on? Obviously they'll be doing a stool sample
test, but anything else the vet should be doing or testing for? I would appreciate
any advice. I thought it was food related, but I guess not. I'm totally lost here. I've
also tested them by removing their treats for a few days, and that doesnt help.
Thanks,
Andrea
