Standard Disclaimer: I am not a vet! :-)

I have one girl who's stools are consistently looser than my other
two... and had a male a couple years ago who had even looser stools
than my little girl does now. I always figured as long as they were
eating well enough to keep a healthy weight, acted like normal active
ferrets, and the stools weren't black or green or any really strange
color, that they were OK. It never seemed to bother them, and when I
mentioned it to the vet, they said they *could* do fecal testing, but
they were both healthy enough not to worry.

I've heard that ferrets who survive a bout of ECE can sometimes have
chronically loose stools/sensitive digestive systems afterwards, but
with an adoptee you rarely know their full medical history. Also I've
heard ferrets can suffer irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) which also
causes loose stool... But I haven't heard of any surefire ways of
'curing' either chronic condition (hopefully someone else has new
information on that...).
