If the ferret won't eat chicken baby food with encouragement try other meat based flavors. Like humans their tastes do vary. a/d is often a good food to water down with warmed water.

A dehydrated ferret also can suffer reduction in ability to smell due to dry mucus membrances so warmed foods will have more scent.

It wouldn't hurt any to be giving Carafate liquid in case there may be a post-op ulceration.
