Greetings all,

I'm writing to update you all on Fria's progress after her Adrenal Surgery
on August 10th, and to ask some questions. Fria had her right adrenal
gland removed successfully, and has recovered quite well. Her energy level
is much better, in fact she's more playful and bouncy than I've seen her in
awhile.

The areas of her body that were shaved for surgery and for drawing blood
are growing new fur pretty quickly. But, the rest of her fur that was NOT
shaved off is now falling out at a rate I've never seen before. In the
last week, she's been losing fur by the handful...literally. Several
strokes of a slicker brush and it needs cleaned out. If we pluck her, it
comes out in handfuls (and we're very gentle about it). Each day, she's
closer to being bald, with the exception of her new fur that's coming in.

Now, it does seem like she's growing some new fur under what's falling out,
because she feels stubbly under there. Is this normal with the drastic
hormone change that she probably went through after surgery? Or should I
be concerned?

Also, if she's simply regrowing a "brand new" coat, why would it
drastically change color? I don't mind if she changes color, but I'm
curious as to why it could be changing so much. She's a cinnamon or
champagne (depending on who you talk to ;-) ), but her stubbly hair is
very dark. Nothing like her "original" color.

Any thoughts or ideas on this would be very helpful.

Take care,
Jen
