My Chloe went through the same thing. I would very gently tug on her fur and it would come out by the handfuls. My ferret vet told me it that it happens from time to time with post-op adrenal ferrets and was nothing to worry about. She told me to keep gently plucking the old fur to help prevent hairballs ( she was very itchy and licked and sctratched a lot). She ended up losing all her fur except on her head and feet. One day shortly thereafter, I noticed she looked like she'd been rolling in dirt. It was her new coat coming in. After it all came in, her coat was like the coat she'd had before she was adrenal.
