Hi All,
I thought I felt a small bump under the skin, located just above the right shoulder blade, about a week ago while my ferret was lying on her back but couldn't find it after I turned her over to take a look.
I found it late Sunday night and it is larger now. It's shaped like a grain of rice, only bigger, and seems to hurt her when touched. It looked like the skin around it was bruised but by morning it had a normal color. I cleaned the area with diluted peroxide and got a bit of orange substance, probably body oil. The bump and surrounding area has a strange odor. It smells chemical-like with a hint of black pepper.
I'm taking her tomorrow to have it aspirated and need to know if Prednisolone can interfere with the results? If so, how long should I withhold it (she takes it for GI problems)?
