My vet wrote this at my request. First background: Andi is 3.5 spayed
female. She has been healthy until very recently. About 2 months ago,
she started showing slight adrenal symptoms (some loss of fur on tail
and knuckles). Five weeks ago, she had her annual distemper shot and
thorough exam including abdominal palpatation with no problems found.
She was given a melatonin implant 2 weeks ago. About that time I
noticed she was not as active as normal.

Over the last week she was getting much worse, with lack of appetite,
weight loss and enlarged abdomen. She had surgery yesterday and a mass
was found that could not be removed. Here is what my vet says:

"A large amount of serosanguinous fluid (approx 50cc) with fibrinous
tags was removed and sent for analysis. The greater omentum adjacent to
her stomach was very edematous. We found a 2cm round, firm mass in the
wall of her stomach near the fundus. The mass had numerous cavitations
and caseated material palpable and visualized in the area cut for
biopsy. the left adrenal appeared very slightly enlarged. All other
organs appeared grossly normal. We checked the right adrenal, liver,
pancreas, kidneys, intestines and mesenteric node. Recovery was routine
and we are waiting for pathology reports."

Andi is currently on 1mg prednisolone twice a day, and 25mg amoxy twice
a day.

Any comments or suggestions for treatment are greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
