My little ferret was Dx with insulinoma 4 weeks ago. She was put on .1mg of Pred for 2 weeks and her BG was still at 49 when rechecked, so 9 days ago her Pred was increased to .2mg. This morning she was like a limp rag and could barely stand on her own. After giving her the meds and a little food, she seemed slightly better, but not her usual self.
I gave the vet a call and she said because of Sophie's weight (1lb.), that .25 is the maximum dosage for her. Does this sound right to anyone else? I'm a little stunned that after only 1 month on meds, that she's reached the max. This is my tough little ferret and she hasn't shown Sx of the insulinoma other than the spacing out.
