I got the cytology report on the fluid:

"The fluid is highly cellular, consisting of numerous neutrophils,
eosinophils, and monocytoid cells. No RBCs are seen. No organisms are
seen. Monocytoid cells are suspected to be malignant; cells have oval
to highly pleomorphic and lobular nuclei and moderate amounts of deeply
gray-blue cytoplasm; rare cells are leukophagocytic; nucleoli are not
evident.

Diagnosis: Suspect immunoblastic polymorphic form of malignant lymphoma
with an associated eosinophilic and neutrophilic inflammation or a
paraneoplastic leukocyte infiltrate. A benign, neutrophilic,
eosinophilic, and histiocytic inflammatory reaction must be ruled out.

Comments: Recommend a spleen aspirate. If there is no evidence of
lymphoma, recommend a surgical biopsy of the fundic mass."

So we are still waiting for the results on the mass itself, but I am
not hopeful.
