Subject: Elevated Creatinine

What, besides kidney disease, would cause elevated Creatinine?

My ferret is 5 years old, is spayed and has Adrenal Disease. She is on Lupron and oral Melatonin and is being weaned off of Prednisolone. She has a history of elevated Creatinine but it has somehow always corrected itself and our vet has never been concerned until now. I've included the BUN and out-of-range values below.

MCH 20.6 (HIGH) (16.5-20.0)
Alkaline Phosphatase 50 (HIGH) (15-45)
BUN 32 (10-33)
Creatinine 1.9 (HIGH) (0.2-0.8)
Phosphorus 3.0 (LOW) (4.2-8.5)
Glucose 24 (LOW) (80-120)

The Glucose concerns me. This is the first time it's tested low. I don't know how long the sample sat around but the results were back the next day. Still, that's very low and she was not fasted.

Thanks.
