Hello again everyone,

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for the info I received regarding
Kodo's red dots on his skin. I'm sorry I don't usually reply right away,
but I don't have time to necessarily reply each day, though I do read them
right away. But your help is always greatly appreciated.

We've just received the results of Kodo's Adrenal Panel, and it came back
positive for Adrenal Disease, much as we expected. His surgery is
scheduled for October 1st.

Now, after telling you this, I have yet another concern that I could use
input on from you all. After noticing that it was taking Kodo longer than
usual in the litter box, we all began to watch him closely during bathroom
visits. As strange as this may sound, my sister was able to see him
urinate by using a flashlight to see under him (talk about no privacy,
huh?). It was not a constant stream, it was more of a trickle. Then last
night, he stood in a perfect way for me to see if he was going, and all I
saw was a single drip. He stood there a bit longer, but I didn't see him
go more. He also seems to make repeated trips to the litter box in a short
amount of time, which makes me think he feels the need to go, but is having
trouble.

I am getting pretty worried that he's having difficulty urinating due to a
swollen prostate. I've read that this is a fairly common thing in Adrenal
males. Our vet is aware that this is happening, and said it's pretty
common also.

So, here come the questions, now that I've explained what we've been
seeing. How might we know for sure that he's having problems going, and
not just that we've caught him at times that he doesn't need to go very
much? Does it sound like an urgent problem, or is it a common problem that
can safely wait until his surgery is done? Are there other symptoms of a
swollen prostate causing difficulty urinating? And is there anything that
we can do for him until surgery remedies his problems?

Any and all help would be very much appreciated. This is only my second
experience with Adrenal Disease, and my first time with a male. I just
want to make sure that he'll be ok, and that I'm doing everything possible
for him. Although he's my mother's ferret, he lives here now, and it's my
job to make sure that ALL the critters are doing well...even if they aren't
my own.

Thank you,
Jen
