I felt a bit better knowing that Kodo will have his much needed adrenal
surgery sooner (tomorrow, mentioned in my last post).

But now I've got another problem. I just noticed Vivi, my nearly 4 year
old girl, having a major bout of projectile vomiting. It wasn't just once
either. She was vomiting one right after another, for a total of about 5
times in just a few minutes. When she finally let me hold her, I noticed
that her paw pads and nose were pretty bright red. I actually noticed a
few days ago that she seemed a bit red, but I didn't think much of it, but
now wonder if something might have been going on even then. It looks very
much like a vaccine reaction, but she's not had one recently (her last
vaccine was back around Feb.).

She wouldn't let anyone pick her up, and would run away and hide from us,
which is the total opposite behavior for her. Her tail was poofed while
she was getting sick also. Maybe she was just really scared and upset by
the whole thing.

One more thing I noticed was a sore on her back. It was crusted over with
dried blood. It's fairly red, and about the size of a pencil eraser. I
would tend to think one of the other ferrets bit her, although our gang
isn't usually so rough with each other that they cause wounds.

I'll be calling the vet before we leave with Kodo tomorrow, to get her in
for an exam. But I was hoping someone could help point us in the right
direction, and maybe give me a good starting point for our vet. What are
some things that could look so much like a vaccine reaction, without the
vaccine?

Goodness, we take care of one ailment, and 3 more show up.

Thank you,
Jen, the frustrated ferret mommy
