One implant lasting over 6 months, sounds great.

I found a website that talks about treating adrenal ferrets with an implant- a GnRH agonist like Lupron. Any info on this implant, the pricing and how long it lasts? Seems the vet using it is in Texas.
If it doesn't last any longer than lupron, or is not cheaper, I suppose it won't matter- but just looking at options.

It also mentions a urine test for adrogens and estrogen to diagnose adrenal disease done at Texas A&M university, may be an alternative to blood testing by the TN panel? Especially if blood is hard to get, although I can't imagine it would be easy to collect enough urine for a test...

Hi Shona,
Glad to hear you are interested in Suprelorin (deslorelin acetate)
implants. In addition to Dr Wagner's study with adrenal ferrets,
there was a study done at the vet school in Budapest, Hungary
with intact ferrets. Worked well in both studies. They lasted for
8-20 months in the adrenal ferrets and 18+ months in the intact
ferrets (if I remember correctly what Dr Huszenicza said).
I would certainly use them if they were available here in the USA.
