With regards to the Ringers w/dextrose. I saw my new vet today to learn how to do the Subq injections. She said the Dextrose Ringers (also known as D5W) should only be given IV not subq because it causes is costic and will cause absesses under the skin. Even I know from nursing, when giving Dextrose in IV you have to make sure you are in the vessel or the sugar can do damage. Terra
