Dr. Bruce Williams asked me to pass this along:

Spindle cell sarcomas can be fibrosarcomas or smooth muscle sarcomas.
Fibrosarcomas may arise totally on their own, but have been reported to
arise as a result of vaccination (and the shoulder is a common spot)
Smooth muscle sarcomas (also called leiomyosarcomas) usually arise from
hair follicles in this area.

It is difficult to tell the difference without immunohistochemical
tests, and most commercial labs don't offer them - they can be
expensive.

Either way, both tumors are low-grade, meaning they rarely metastasize.
Surgical excision, if complete, results in a cure in the vast majority
of cases; recurrence is usually the result of incomplete excision.
