Acinetobacter species turn out to be considered among the emerging disease threats by the CDC because so many strains of so many species of it have developed strong resistance to multiple antibiotics. I found write ups from Asia, Europe, and the Americas of this problem.
Not having antibotics of many types work on members of this genus is not unusual.
(I sent Ardith URLs for some of the studies so that her vet can have them.)
