Jennifer,
I do not know the facts on exactly what's wrong, but do have a few questions. Does he have insulinoma? Is that what you were talking about? Does he take his prednisone w/food and what's the doses? If not it should be taken with food. I've just gone through all these same things for his bloodsugar prob. with my baby Boo. I'm sure you've seen his postings. I can't say that what I"m doing for my ferret will help yours, so talk to the vet first to see if anything that everyone on here helps with will work. We don't want to harm him in the event there's something we don't know. My baby suffered from the Insulinoma and Adrenal, not the other things your has as well.
Maybe trying giving him a duck soup mix to help his energy/protein level. I was told a simple recipe to start. Gerbers chicken w/chicken gravy stage 2 babyfood and some ground up kibble (maybe 1/3tablespoon). I give about 3 tablespoons of this combination every 3-4 hours. Mix it together and warm up in the microwave about 10 seconds and make sure it's not too hot before feeding him with it. This will help keep his nutrition up. Is your baby drinking water and eating? If he won't take the babyfood mix from a cup or plate, you can syringe feed him, but do slowly as not to aspirate. Just drop on his tounge a drop at a time. Please email if I can be of any further help to you. As I said, I don't know if this will get you started, but it should. Maybe talk to your vet, see if you can mix some of his meds in the babyfood to help him eat it. But find out that from your vet. Keep us posted.. =)
