I don't know anything about Insuloma, but have learned a LOT about prostrate problems in the last 2 day. Our Nanook experienced a total urinary block on Wednesday. Long story short, the prostrate even LOOKED normal during surgery, but they couldn't pass a catheter thru. They started him on Lupron. Due to complications he needed surgery again yesterday. They still couldn't pass a cath, but were able to get it a little further, so they believe the Lupron is bringing down prostrate swelling that is unable to be seen. I understand that a portion of the prostrate is behind a bony area, so it's hard to see/feel. In our case the symptoms were urinating problems, everything else was fine.

He's also now on Propecia and melatonin, and we are looking at adrenal surgery in the next few weeks.

Don't know if this helps.. but just wanted to pass our experience along, that there are cases where prostrate problems cannot be felt or seen.

Good luck with your little guy...

My vet doesn't see to think this is the problem Is it possible not to feel and inlargement and have a ferret that still has that problem? If this is possible, my vet would be willing to try anotehr course of action
