I'm not a vet but through the years we've had several who were lacking adrenals completely.

We've found with our's that if they get heavier, if they get more active, or if they are dealing with any type of physical stress that they usually need more Prednisolone and more Fludrocort/Florinef. (We sometimes use Percortin but our vet is an hour drive each way so usually we go with Fludrocort. When we did use Percortin that ferret did fine on his usual Percortin dose even under temporary physical stress.)

We prefer Prednisolone to Prednisone partly because if the liver function is at all impaired it really pays to skip the liver processing step to get the most function for the dose.
