Subject: Seizures / low blood surgar or tumor???
Message-ID: <4966108.1097004264414.JavaMail.root@thallium.smartgroups.com>

Koda=92s problems have gotten worse over the last few days. He ended up in=
the vets on Monday he had to stay all day and be given sub Q=92s and dextr=
ose he was also force fed AD w/ water every =BD hour. When we picked him up=
late yesterday he was doing so well. He would get up when someone came in =
the room where the vet was keeping him and he even seemed to want to play a=
little. We took him home from the vets with orders to continue the dextros=
e every hour to hour and a half along with the Ad and water. I did this al=
l night long. I continued this until I left for work today at 7:00 am. My h=
usband said he would continue his care when he got home from work at 9:00. =
My husband gave Koda his dextrose when he got home and Koda went it to a m=
ajor seizure. My husband called me at work and asked what he should do. I =
advised him to give him some Kayo syrup on the gums and get him to the vet =
I would meet him there. When I got there I was informed that they have give=
n Koda Valium to slow the seizures. The vet told me Koda was having one sei=
zure after another and that he believed that the seizures had nothing to do=
with Koda=92s low blood sugar. He had explained the reason for his opinion=
before I got to the office. So I am not sure why he believes this I was to=
ld Koda most likely has a brain tumor of some kind. I decided not to make a=
decision on his care at that moment. I have Koda with me at my office now =
he is very tired. My guess is from the large dose of Valium. He is interes=
ted in water but not food. Can anyone tell me if this sounds like a brain t=
umor or if this is just from his low blood sugar? If it is from low blood s=
ugar is there anything we can do at this point to make his life worth livin=
g One other thing I forgot to mention When Koda was in the vet=92s office y=
esterday they tried to get blood from him to run some tests and they couldn=
=92t get enough blood out to do anything with. I was told they even tried =
sedating him to try and get some from his jugular vein and couldn=92t reall=
y get anything from there either. Is this possible?? As always any ideas o=
r opinions are welcome
