I'm very sorry to hear that, but I believe you did the right thing for him. From your description of what he was going through, it was the right choice.

I know this is probably not a time when you're concerned about trying to figure out what happened, but I wanted to add that even though his glucose level might have been relatively normal now, damage to the brain from an extremely low glucose episode may have been done and there's no reversing that, no matter how much food or glucose you give him. It can result in seizures and symptoms very similar to hypoglycemic seizures. I experienced this with Beasley in the end. The only thing that would quell his seizures and tremors was valium IV.
