There's no type of in-house test for adrenal disease that a vet can do. However, if the vet is knowledgeable about ferrets, the clinical symptoms should be obvious.

If the vet performed surgery, they always examine all the organs, but adrenal problems are not always obvious. A gland can look fairly normal and still have too much hormonal output.
