I think it is important that when we say that 1-month or 4-month Lupron did or didn't work for our ferret with adrenal disease, dosage size is also mentioned.

That can make all the difference in the world. When Beasley first started showing signs of adrenal disease, we started him on 1-month Lupron. My vet's standard 1-month dose is 150 mcg. After several months of treatment with no results, I could have easily said the 1-month didn't work for Beasley. What we did was to double the monthly dose to 300 mcg. Within a couple weeks his hair loss was beginning to reverse. After several more months on the 300 mcg dose, we were able to go back to the 150 mcg dose and he maintained well on that.

And I hate to say it, but I had to educate my own vet when we first started using 4-month Lupron. She was under the impression that she was to give the same amount as she had been with the 1-month. So it's possible there are vets out there that are not accustomed to Lupron therapy for ferrets and the various forms of Lupron and may have a similar misunderstanding.
