With 5 ferrets I'm surprised you haven't seen this yet. I'm sorry to say you almost certainly will see more of it. Adrenal disease is very common and almost every ferret in the U.S. gets it eventually.

It's not shedding. Shedding doesn't cause bald spots. This is a classic starting spot for hair loss with adrenal disease.
