Hello,
Maybe a skin scraping at the vets would help determine what it is.
have you researched cutaneous lymphoma? It starts as scabs, especially on feet and then progresses to lumps.
ask your vet about it
I have a ferret with a strange scab/lump too and am trying to learn about it.
we have another vet appointment tomorrow.
good luck

> I searched archives, but am unsure if my case fits those I found. One of my ferrets, 5yr old male, has developed scabs over his body. Here and there, would say he has about 20 scabs. Even next his eye, under his stomach, next to his mouth. I have changed bedding, moved him to a new cage, checked the other ferrets, he is the only one.

> Any advice is welcome. They are back to getting a daily cleaning, and I am washing his feet, and it isn't spreading but hard to tell if it is getting any better (the foot sores). I have been trying to clean his scabs a few a day, thinking a bath with soap might irritate his skin worse.
