Hi,

Yesterday morning one of my two 16 week ferret kits was not moving as well as usual. It looks as though he is lame on his left back leg but it may be both legs are affected.

We've had a good look but can't find any sore spots or obvious damage on either legs or back. He is eating well and playing with his brother but not charging and springing about as he normally would.

I've had the boys about 4 weeks, they're indoor ferrets and are not vaccinated as yet. I'm hoping he's just sprained something but would like to know if there are any diseases which may start like this, if so what tests should we run?

These are my first ferrets and I'm keen to do my best for them. My vet practice is enthusiastic but not very experienced with ferrets.

Hope to hear from you,
Lucinda Fletcher-Neal
